Pennan Hall’s 2025 Facelift!
We are so pleased to give an update on our beloved Pennan Village Hall following our announcement in late 2024 that we had been awarded a Coastal Communities grant to install up to date Audio Visual equipment!
The grant would see us commission and install a state of the art cinema and sound system along with some comfort improvements including new heating, new blinds and seat cushions for those epic movie nights!!
We were so grateful to be chosen for grant funding but we are committed to using generous donations and event fees to keep our hall in tip top condition.
One of our planned self funded projects in 2024 was to paint the hall and get the floor sanded and refinished. We are thrilled that both of these projects were achieved in time for the 2025 season! We have popped a little before/after below just to show the HUGE difference that this has made to the space!

We want to extend our thanks and appreciation to Fred Bruce and his team for the excellent work they have done to paint the hall from top to bottom - even the stage has had a facelift! No cm has been missed and we are sure everyone will agree it’s really freshened the hall up!

Scottish flooring specialists Border Floors came all the way to Pennan to get our floor sanded and protected. We worked with the team to agree a simpler finish to the floor, keeping it light and it looks spectacular!
Finally, thank you to Purple Cat, our partners for the AV project. They recommended the best tools to suit our needs and installed everything over a few days late last year. After a couple of trial runs we were so happy to have our official launch with a special showing of Local Hero in August. We are hoping to set up a regular film night very soon! Keep an eye on FB for announcements!
